-From the Desk of the Executive Director-

Welcome to your new My IES!

My IES has been designed and implemented to improve your member experience. Our goal is to improve the user experience of our website by creating an online atmosphere that is easy to navigate and becomes a one-stop-shop for all your IES involvement and engagement.

Through your My IES you will have access to all the important aspects of your membership:

  • renewing your membership;
  • your robust membership profile;
  • a digest of all of your committees and section activities, including dedicated discussion forums;
  • new membership and speakers directories tied to individual member profiles;
  • connectivity with other members;
  • a consolidated events calendar that contains section, district, region, society and committee events; and
  • much more that will be added in the future.

Whether you are active locally with your section, participate on a committee, looking to connect with other members, or still contemplating about what you should do next as a member, there is something for you.

You will notice that there are primarily two different types of communities; sections and committees. There is a dedicated community built around each section and committee.

For your section, the community centralizes and provides access to an:

  • events calendar;
  • discussion forum;
  • digest of section leaders and link to the section’s website;
  • library to share files; and
  • list of all section members with easy access to each individual’s member profile.

Over time we will work to integrate access to the discussion forum within the individual websites of our sections, should they wish to do so.

Committees are broken into two categories, technical and non-technical. For your committees, the community centralizes and provides access to an:

  • events calendar;
  • discussion forum;
  • library to share files;
  • list of all section members with easy access to each individual’s member profile; and
  • for technical committees, workspace, which is where you conduct your committee activities and business.

Over the course of the next few weeks we will be creating and disseminating short how-to videos in order to provide tutorials on navigating and using the new website. These videos will be easily accessed in a FAQ.

We encourage you to explore this new member benefit and see what is has to offer. This effort is to provide increased value for your membership and to improve our offerings and support. I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Best,

Tim Licitra

I am already intrigued to notice other section events on the right, and a more fully fleshed out snapshot of my engagement with the IES.  Nice work- this is really fantastic.
