Annual Conference Papers Subcommittee  

Scope: To procure, review and approve all papers for presentation at the IES Annual Conference.

 

Annual Conference Steering Committee  

Scope: Lead the planning and development of the IES Annual Conference, meeting the requirements of the Society.

 

Board of Fellows Award Committee  

Scope: To evaluate the eligibility of candidates for the designation of Fellow, according to procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Distinguished Service Award Committee  

Scope: To evaluate the eligibility of candidates for the Distinguished Service Award according to procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Education Material Review Committee  

Scope: The Education Material Review Committee consists of three five-person panels to work in a rotational basis in reviewing all face-to-face educational materials. Material review responsibility will rotate through the panels. Three individuals recommended by the Director of Education for Board Approval will work as Panel Chairpersons and lead each panel. Guest expert reviewers will be added for specific material where required and determined by the Panel Chairperson. The scope of the Educational Material Review Committee is to review educational materials and to ensure the quality and message meet IES standards. The Committee will only suggest additions or changes, and will not develop materials. Educational materials for Committee review will be Fundamentals of Lighting, Intermediate Seminars and Programs, and Regional Roadshows.

 

IES Annual Conference Young Professionals Scholarship Fund  

Scope: The IES Annual Conference Young Professionals Scholarship is designed to support young professionals who would otherwise not be able to attend the IES Annual Conference. In addition, the long-term goal is to encourage firms, schools, IES Sections, manufacturers and others throughout to support the participation of students and young professionals by supporting the IES Annual Conference Young Professionals Scholarship Fund. By supporting students and young professionals to attend IES conferences everyone benefits.

 

Illumination Awards Committee  

Scope: The IES Illumination Awards (IA) program recognizes individuals for professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design based on the individual merit of each entry. This committee oversees the entire Illumination Awards program, its processes, and the IA Gala.

 

Leadership Forum Committee  

To develop and implement an annual workshop designed to help leaders, at all levels of the Society, effectively work with volunteers.

 

Marks Award Committee  

Scope: To evaluate the eligibility of candidates for the Louis B. Marks Award according to the procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Medal Award Committee  

Scope: To evaluate the eligibility of candidates for the Medal Award according to the procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Membership Advisory Panel  

Scope: The Membership Advisory Panel (MAP) works strategically with Board of Directors and IES Staff to review opportunities and threats relative to the strategic plan, coordinate and ensure collaboration between committees categorized in groupings, and make recommendations and support implementation as directed by the Board.

 

Progress Report Committee  

Scope: To keep in touch with developments in the art and science of lighting throughout the world and prepare a yearly review of achievements for the Society.

 

Research Symposium Committee  

Scope: Lead the planning and development of the IES Research Symposium, meeting the requirements of the Society.

 

Street & Area Lighting Conference Committee  

Scope: To provide educational opportunities that promotes excellence in the street and area lighting industry. Provide a forum to exchange information and discuss outdoor lighting issues. Conduct the annual Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC).

 

Street & Area Lighting Conference Education Subcommittee  

Scope: The Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) Education Subcommittee will have specific responsibilities as it relates to the SALC.

 

Street & Area Lighting Conference Executive Subcommittee  

Scope: The Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) Executive Subcommittee will have specific responsibilities as it relates to the SALC.

 

Street & Area Lighting Conference Industry Interchange Subcommittee  

Scope: The Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) Industry Interchange Subcommittee will have specific responsibilities as it relates to the SALC.

 

Street & Area Lighting Conference Marketing & Membership Subcommittee  

Scope: The Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) Marketing & Membership Subcommittee will have specific responsibilities as it relates to the SALC.

Scope: The Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) Conference Planning Subcommittee will have specific responsibilities as it relates to the SALC.

 

Student and Emerging Professionals Event Subcommittee  

Scope: Promotes the integration of emerging professionals into the leadership of the Society.
