Student Lighting Competition Exhibition and Reception

When:  Mar 3, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  The IES New York City Section

The IESNYC is celebrating the 20th year of the Student Lighting Competition.

In an ever-expanding universe, light connects and unifies. Beneath the sun’s rays, plants feed, flourish, grow; moonlight guides baby turtles safely from their nests to the sea. Yet, the sun’s harsh rays can burn and blind and moonlight creates space in darkness for danger. Humanity balances between natural and electric light, creating a complex and ever-evolving entropic relationship. Light illuminates our lives but hides our skies; it causes us to evolve, flourish, and decay. This year’s theme, LUMIMORPHOSIS, challenges students to create a project that explores the relationship between light and growth.

View the talents of our upcoming lighting designers at this Exhibition and Reception and join in the excitement as the winners of the Student Lighting Competition are announced.

Keynote Speaker to be announced.
